SAI SARASWATI VIDYA MANDIR school

About THE sCHOOL

Sai Saraswati Vidya Mandir school is located in the outskirts of the Kalimpong metro city of West Bengal state of India. It currently has about 45 students from grades 1-5. The school is supported by a non-profit organization. It doesn't have any computer that is used for teaching students.

Project Partner

Our project partner is a locally based non-profit organization by the name of Suntala. eBlackboard worked closely with the President of the organization to plan and implement the project.

The implementation

One set of the latest Raspberry Pi computer (RPI-400) was installed in the main office of the school with the help of Mr. Ambar Shrestha, who is an active member of the non-profit organization. The LCD monitor and accessories like keyboards, mouse, speakers, headphones and UPS were purchased locally through the organization's in kind donation.

The President of the non-profit organization took the Raspberry Pi computer from the US to India and fully participated in the installation process. The computer was loaded with a digital interactive learning tool called 'ePaath' and various other applications. It was prepared and fully tested by eBlackboard team in the USA.

The President Mr. Saroj Pradhan and Ambar Shrestha performed the final test of the Operating System and the interactive learning tool, provided a quick demo to the school staff prior to the handover. They also provided a copy of the User's Manual for the RPI-400 model prepared by eBlackboard.
